Sky-high standards.

A writing team was in a rut, but they still needed to deliver eye-popping content. To get their creative juices going, we created a snappy style guide and training series.

The first million.

The mission: Edit 1 million words of procedures for a call center. We worked with a 3-person team over 4 months to trim the content and make it more readable. In the end, we cut word count by 50%.

Hi there. I’m Elizabeth Befus, former editor in chief at Apple, with a master’s in technical communication. In 2016, I started my freelance practice, which has given me the chance to write digital and print pieces for brands around the world.

Mostly, I write about all things tech. But writing simply and clearly is a plus in all walks of life. So I also write about food, finance, pharma, and the fine print.
